Principle of thickness gauge -- Introduction

      Thickness gauge, English name is thickness gauge. It is a kind of gauge used to measure the thickness of materials and objects. It is often used to measure the thickness of products continuously or by sampling in industrial production. The thickness gauge adopts the mechanical contact measurement method, which strictly conforms to the standard requirements, and effectively guarantees the standardization and accuracy of the test. It is suitable for accurate thickness measurement of plastic film, sheet, diaphragm, paper, foil, silicon and other materials within the range.

       laser thickness gauge: this kind of thickness gauge is a non-contact dynamic measuring instrument, which uses the reflection principle of laser to measure and observe the micro geometry of the machined surface of parts in mechanical manufacturing according to the light cutting method.

     X-ray thickness gauge: this kind of thickness gauge is a non-contact dynamic measuring instrument, which uses the characteristics related to the change of X-ray intensity and the thickness of the material when the X-ray penetrates the tested material.

    Ultrasonic thickness gauge: this kind of thickness gauge measures the thickness of the object according to the principle of ultrasonic pulse reflection. When the ultrasonic pulse emitted by the probe reaches the material interface through the measured object, the pulse will reflect and return to the probe. The thickness of the measured material is calculated by accurately measuring the propagation time of the ultrasonic wave in the material.

     Coating thickness gauge: mainly uses the electromagnetic induction method to measure the thickness of the coating. The coating thickness gauge will produce a closed magnetic circuit at the probe of the component surface. With the change of the distance between the probe and the ferromagnetic material, the magnetic circuit will change in varying degrees, so it will cause the change of the magnetic resistance and the coil inductance of the probe.
